ZEKİ ARİF ATAERGİN
Alaeddin Bey, döneminin birçok büyük musikisinasından istifade etmiştir. Bunlardan biri de bestekar Zeki Arif Ataergindir (1896-1964). Bu hocasını şöyle tanıtır: Musiki camiasında çok değerli ve saygın olan Zeki Arif Bey Üsküdar Nasuhi Dergahı’nın şeyhiydi (Halveti-Şabani). Hukuk mazunuydu yıllarca hakimlik, avukatlık ve noterlik yaptı. Sevecen, dini bütün ve alçak gönüllüydü. Allah’ın adı geçtiği zaman cezbeye gelirdi. Onun dünya ile alakası yoktu. Çok mahviyet sahibiydi. Besteleri için “Biz sadece yazıyoruz, Tanrı bize lütfediyor biz kaleme alıyoruz, bir kul olarak bunu kendimiz yapamayız” derdi.
Yavaşca şöyle devam eder: “Hayatımda Zeki Arif’in başka türlü etkisi olmuştur. O benim ruhumu yıkamıştır, yalnız musiki hocam olmamıştır. İnsanlığın ne demek olduğunu ondan öğrendim ben. Etkisinde kaldığım bir hocadır.”
Neyzen M. Hakan Alvan ve Mustafa Tahralı’dan dinlediklerime göre A. Yavaşca manevi tasavvufi çevrelerle ilgisi olan ve bu tür ortamlardan hoşlanan biridir. Muzaffer Ozak’la (1916-1985) yakınlığı vardır. Cenaze namazını Tuğrul İnançer kıldırmış ve Beşiktaş yamaçlarında uhrevi bir mekan olan Yahya Efendi Dergahı kabristanına defnedilmiştir.
